Where do we go from here? - November 24, 2001

Now that the 40-day fast is over, many are asking: Where do we go from here? What is the next step that the Lord would have us take?
When the Lord set his people free from Egypt, after repeating many times to Pharaoh this Let My People Go! that has inspired us for the fast, we read that from the very beginning of their walk towards the promised land: The LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, to go by day and night. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people. (Exodus 13:21-22 KJ21), and that it was the case until the end of their journey through the wilderness: And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys; but if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not until the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys. (Exodus 40:36-38 KJ21)
Moses himself cried out from his heart: And he said to Him, If Your presence does not go with me, do not carry us up from here. (Exodus 33:15 MKJV)
Brothers and sisters, this is the only strategy that we have. We cannot follow any other plan, nor look for any other program, nor find any other method, nor wait for better instructions. The words of Jesus are still showing us the only way: And He said to them all, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it. (Luke 9:23-24 KJ21)
This is the road we are walking day after day, led by the Holy Spirit, until He comes back. All along we must remain vigilant to listen to His voice, as Pastor Bob Birch continually watched to remind us: He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Listen and obey, day by day.
Now that the fast is over, what should we do? Listen and obey, every day.
The fast was an act of intercession to open the heavens above us, for His Word to come down with power: Let My People Go! On the last day of the fast, Sunday, Nov. 18, at the very instant when the shofars were sounding all together form sea to sea, the powers of the air were shaken, and heaven was opened.
The Lord spoke to my spirit and told me that in the New Year that is soon starting, the Church would be hit by a very powerful wave of evangelism. This wave will suddenly overturn our best programs, and our best growth expectations. And the words of Jesus will find their accomplishment in our midst with a great authority and glory: Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men. (Mark 1:17 MKJV)
Until the end of this year, I suggest that everyone would take the time to rest at the Master's feet. To renew our strength before we start the next year. He is inviting us to come aside with him: And He said to them, Come aside into a deserted place and rest a little. (Mark 6:31 MKJV)
Those who will set themselves to do it will be ready when the wave will come.
May His peace fill your hearts,
