The Winnipeg Covenants

The Covenant of Canadian Pastors
We, the pastors of Canada, covenant to humble ourselves to pray that Canada becomes a resting place for the presence of the Lord.

We covenant to seek Your face and to turn from the wicked ways of doing things our way.

We covenant to walk together in righteousness and according to the Word of God as One New Man in Christ, fulfilling Psalm 72:8 that "He shall have dominion from sea to sea, from the river unto the ends of the earth."

We covenant, as watchmen of our nation, to walk in humility, unity and the fear of the Lord, extending Christ's love and forgiveness for the healing of our land. All together: We, the pastors in Canada, together declare: "Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, forever and ever, AMEN"

A Covenant with the Jewish People
We covenant as a Church to be a blessing to Israel and the Jewish people therefore:

We purpose to stand with and protect the rights of the Jews.

We endorse their right to live in a Jewish state in accordance with God's covenant.

We repent for the persecution of Jews by the church and for our silence in face of maltreatment by others.

We decry and denounce the unbiblical belief of the Church that has resulted in attitudes and actions that have produced harm to the Jews.

We confess God has not rejected His ancient people.

We confess that through the Gospel, the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together in one body, sharers together in the promise in Messiah Jesus.

We pray that the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation may lead us into all the truth and instruct us concerning God's purposes for the Church and Israel.

The Covenant of Christian Broadcasters
We humbly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Supreme Ruler of the airwaves, and we submit to His will the use of them. We covenant to pursue the will of God to the best of our ability for the sake of Canada and her destiny.

We believe the airwaves are to be used for the edifying and equipping of the Body of Christ.

We commit ourselves to walking in integrity, honesty and true holiness in the fear of the Lord, endeavoring to have a good report from those within and without the Body of Christ. Our desire is to conduct our lives in accordance to the qualifications of leaders given in 1 Timothy 3. We will seek to cooperate to extend the Kingdom of God, through winning of souls to Jesus Christ, and extending righteousness to Canada and beyond with God's grace.

Our desire is to help Canada walk through that which has begun at this Gathering, July 2, 1999 at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Covenant of the Fathers to the Children
We believe:

• that God values children as members of the body of Christ in their own right.
• that God's Spirit does speak to and through children whose hearts are dedicated to Him, regardless of age.
• that God can and does work powerfully through children who are dedicated to Him, regardless of age.
• that the Christian home and church is the most important arena for discipleship and training in ministry.
• that the most effective learning takes place when generations are linked in ministry.

Therefore, we covenant with the children as parents, pastors and leaders of the Body of Christ in Canada, with the grace and help of our Lord Jesus:

• to be an example of righteousness and integrity to our children.
• to protect our children from all forms of abuse. To be a godly voice of influence on their behalf in our schools, communities and all levels of government, to protect the future of our children.
• to respect our children as partners in ministry and seek to open doors of ministry for them.
• to repent of our sin and ask their forgiveness where we have sinned against them.
• to intercede for them, that they may stand strong against the enemy.
